An access log is a text file containing an extensive list of all of the files accessed by your Internet site visitors. All of the files that were requested in one way or another shall be included, so if you have a PHP script app and a website visitor opens only the home page, for instance, you may find numerous files in the log. The reason is that there are elements on the home page which are embedded - parts of other Internet pages, graphics, etc. All of these files will be listed inside the access log, so that you can get a detailed picture of the way your website functions. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are occasionally referred to as "raw data" as well. An access log contains the name of each and every requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, in addition to the user’s IP address, web browser and Operating System. More information, like the referrer website, is sometimes provided too. A log file could be processed by various desktop apps for statistical purposes as an addition to the web stats provided by your web server.
Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting
Enabling the generation of access logs will be exceptionally easy if you buy a shared hosting from us. The Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, included with all the accounts, features a section dedicated to different logs and this is where you will find the access logs as well. As you go there, you'll see a list of all the domain names hosted inside the account and the subdomains created for them. Our custom made cloud hosting platform shall start creating an access log for each of them when you click on the On button, which you'll see on the right. If you no longer require logs, disabling the option is just as simple and can be accomplished by clicking on the Off button within the same exact section. All of the logs are downloadable, so you can conveniently save and manage them on your desktop PC or laptop.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our state-of-the-art website hosting platform shall generate access logs for each Internet site hosted within a semi-dedicated server account, as long as this feature is permitted. All domain names and subdomains that you have will be listed within the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which we supply with all the accounts, so if you want our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should simply click on the compact button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You can stop this function anytime by following the exact same steps. You'll find a Download link for every single log in the same section of the CP, so you can easily save the content generated by our system in .txt format with no more than a click. An existing log file can be downloaded even after the feature has been deactivated, so you'll still be able to look at the data that has already been generated.
